Setting up a Facebook Fan Page Quickly For Selling Sites

With over 300 million people on Facebook (which is about one for EVERY man, women and child in the entire United States of America) you have a place where people can spread the word about site instantly with TONS of people.  Now, for some bizarre reason Facebook made setting up a Facebook Fan Page ridiculously confusing, however if you just follow these simple steps – you’ll have your own Facebook fan page for selling sites in less than 10 minutes.

Step 1:
Go to www.facebook.com

Step 2
Click “Create a Page for a celebrity, band or business” (it’s in the bottom-right corner)

Step 3
The first block of options say “Category”, choose the middle option “Brand, Product or Organization” and then choose “Website” (at the bottom of the drop down menu)

Step 4
In the “Name of Page” box type your site name like this “FlippingAwesome.com” or “LiveAnywhereWorkAnytime.com” (no need for the “http://www“)

Then solve the crazy-hard captcha (thing with the squiggly letters that takes forever to get right)

Step 5
Click “Create Page”

Step 6
Now, it’s going to ask you to either sign in with your Facebook account or create a new one – since you are flipping this site, select the “I do not have a Facebook account” and setup a new one, so you can include this with your flip when you flip it.  Note: If you link this with your main Facebook account you will not be able to split the 2 accounts when you flip the site BAD NEWS!

Step 7
Once you get past the account creation screen and you are logged in, click “View Page” (top of the page near our site name)

Step 8
In the LEFT sidebar, there is a box that says “Write something about…”, click in there and type a one line bio about your site (it can be the same one line bio that you entered into WordPress admin settings like “selling sites, etc”).

Click the tab labeled “Info” and fill it out, actually fill out all the information you can.

Step 9
Now the part you really want to know, how to link your site to your new Facebook Fan page!  It’s easy, click on the Facebook logo to go back to your main screen, click “Pages” and RIGHT-CLICK (do not do a regular click!!!) and choose “Copy link location” (or a similar version in your browser).

This URL that you just copied is the URL that you want to use on your site wherever your “Become a Facebook Fan” image/text is going to be.

Just so you know, the URL you copied should look something like this:

http://www.facebook.com/pages/FlippingAwesomecom/215732238047
